Position Overview

As a Training Specialist you will execute the installation and update of retail technology equipment ad Point of Sale (POS) systems for retail customers, and administer end user training on all solutions supported by the department. 

Responsibilities

  • Confers with retailers to determine the best Point of Sale solution; determines the most appropriate configuration
  • options including end-user requirements
  • Schedules installation and training timelines with store decision makers to ensure seamless technology transition
  • Builds product files by scanning each item into Point of Sale system to ensure accuracy of item prices and match
  • to shelf tags
  • Trains end users on usage of Point of Sale application software and other solutions supported by retail technology
  • department
  • Collaborates with retailers on-site during initial implementation for each independent store; resolves unforseen
  • issues with a high sense of urgency to ensure minimal downtime for retailers
  • Provides consistent follow up and technical support after initial implementation to ensure users have a thorough
  • understanding of system functionality
  • Responds to escalated help tickets relating to Point of Sale user concerns or issues

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent,
  • Field of Study: Computer Science, Business or related field
  • 2 plus years of experience in retail cash office, scanning coordination, or
  • equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in retail operations strongly preferred
  • This position requires the ability to travel frequently throughout PA, MD, and OH with occasional travel
  • throughout the mid-Atlantic and New England regions
  • Must have flexibility to
  • work long hours including nights and weekends to ensure installation deadlines
  • are met
