Position Overview

As a Sales Representative, you will create sales and services  for an established general merchandise/non-foods route.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain orders for all health and beauty care and general merchandise departments in assigned accounts and sales territory.
  • Make sales of new product lines and special merchandise.
  • Notify appropriate personnel of deviations from normal sales and service schedule.
  • Maintains merchandised areas of assigned accounts including shelf maintenance, shelf tags, price changes, location of new items, and rotation of stock.
  • Implement category plan-o-grams by placing product for maximum exposure and sales.
  • Ensure that required documentation such as credit authorizations and merchandise transfers are completed and signed.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with store owners and managers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, managers and other employees.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
