Position Overview

As a Transportation Operations Analyst, you will have the opportunity to analyze data and apply it in helping the organization make impactful operational decisions that contribute to overall network efficiency.  This person should be able to excel in identifying key data, interpreting findings, and presenting those findings to all levels of Transportation.  The ideal candidate will have a strong skill set in Excel and the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Network Changes- Will assist in designing and developing models and analytical reports to evaluate and track current state operations and simulate future state operations to identify improvement opportunities
  • Support Transportation Proposals –.Collaborate with operations and finance to develop baseline metrics. Validate resources, develop bid sheets and review proposals. Evaluate feasibility of alternate solutions proposed by participants. Assist in formalizing any agreements that arise from proposals
  • Transportation Reporting: Assist in improving current database structures and developing new ones; as well as assist in developing and implementing Business Intelligence dashboards to identify, report and track key Transportation metrics
  • Carrier Contracts – Collaborate with business owners to draft any new carrier contracts and make necessary amendments to existing agreements. Participate in negotiations; ensure business terms are accurately reflected in all agreements. Ensure all stakeholders understand impact of contract changes to their business
  • General Support: Support management team as necessary with ad-hoc quests including but not limited to quantifying change requests from service providers or customers, performing cost- benefits analysis, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong understanding of overall supply chain functions
  • Expert skill level in Microsoft Excel, SQL and data management required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • Transportation knowledge a plus
  • Microsoft Access knowledge a plus
