Position Overview

In this role, you will own managing in-cab technology implementation projects for C&S Wholesale Grocers. Working within the Transportation Projects Team, you will have a particular focus on PeopleNet products and other telematics services, ensuring projects are properly rolled out from initial scoping to final initiation and controls. It will be your priority to collaborate with internal and external partners to seamlessly achieve successful completion of every assigned project.

 

The Project Manager of In-Cab Technologies and Telematics will work with business and technical stakeholders to create a project plan, organizing all individuals involved, create/facilitate and develop a task/action list to hold all parties accountable and measure success. You will also manage the relationship with the stakeholders to ensure they are 100% satisfied with the project and attain return on investment.

 

As part of your role, you will utilize, develop and evolve Project Management Methodology Plans for each implementation project. Additionally, you will regularly keep up to date on all telematics products and offerings so that you can effectively meet company needs and train employees and partners on the usage of implemented in-cab systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop schedules for project initiation, planning, control, and closeout
  • Determine objectives and measures of which project success is evaluated
  • Monitor and report on the status of efforts, anticipating and identifying risks that inhibit the attainment of project goals
  • Facilitate risk management reviews
  • Conduct review meetings at the end of each project milestone and phase
  • Effectively and consistently communicate work progress internally and, as applicable, externally throughout each project
  • Travel to distribution centers, warehouses, and dispatch centers to conduct requirements gathering, coaching, and training activities
  • Represent a team that strives for operational excellence and that values; strategy, honesty, innovation, people, and team spirit

Qualifications

  • B.S. / B.A preferred or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years in business environment is preferred, specific transportation or IT related experience is a plus, project management a plus
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, while identifying priorities, communicating progress and ensuring deadlines are met
  • Strong multi-tasking, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of team members with different backgrounds and needs
  • Able to adjust priorities on short notice, manage interruptions and work well under pressure
