Position Overview

As a Fresh Demand Planning Intern, you will learn about Demand Planning and provide support to the demand planners. In this role, you will learn how to be more deliberate in customer buying behaviors and translate that into increased sales, taking into account the uniqueness of working with perishable items.


The Fresh Demand Planning team provides demand planning for our chain and independent customers, using forecasting tools to analyze our results for Fresh Procurement. They use forecasting tools developed in-house to accomplish this mission. This is a small team, and the interns will be provided with daily oversight, guidance and support.


  • Gain exposure and knowledge on the department functionalities
  • Provide feedback for process improvement
  • Complete various projects and daily responsibilities as assigned
  • Follow processes in place and develop new procedures as we expand this program
  • Learn the factors that go into demand forecasting
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of how to forecast and learn about the other pieces that make up overall demand planning.
  • Learn who our customers are, what their needs are, and how we service them.
  • Your work will include:
    • Running Reports (30%)
    • Conducting post ad-week analysis with the team (30%)
    • Provide forecast support (30%)
    • Other adhoc projects (10%)


  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Team player
  • Eagerness to learn and accept challenges
  • Proven ability to self-manage multiple projects with changing priorities
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
