    Position Overview

    As the Operations Training Manager, you will be required to plan, organize, direct & oversee all warehouse operations training programs for the facility. Provide train-the-trainer support to facility training staffs and management, including certification, and recertification.


    • Create and maintain an environment of positive communication and learning. 
    • Ensure training programs fulfill operational needs and objectives. 
    • Successfully implement new/updated training programs for hourly & salary warehouse personnel.
    • Ensure all new hires receive and understand all corporate delivered material and information intended for successful orientation of new associates.
    • Frequently supervise warehouse floor operations to ensure maintenance of training design, and that trainees are receiving proper instruction.
    • Solicit feedback through public postings, group meetings, or individual contact; use results to create retention initiatives.
    • Participate in the design, development, testing and implementation of new training programs for warehouse personnel.
    • Consult with Regional management and training teams regarding best practices and integration of same into warehouse training programs.
    • Monitor training effectiveness and provide timely updates to management to report performance against established metrics.
    • Work with Corporate Field Training Department to align local training and development needs with organizational training objectives.
    • Collaborate with local Human Resource Management in the recruitment process to ensure staffing levels for Trainers and new hires meet facility requirements.
    • Ensure shift managers, supervisors, trainers and trainees adhere to all established safety standards, regulations, and performance guidelines.
    • Partner with other functions on the recruiting, interviewing, and hiring of new trainers.
    • Conduct train-the-trainer sessions to ensure warehouse trainers, supervisors and managers maintain their certifications.
    • Assist in scheduling, and delivering individual supervisor and trainer career developmental training needs.
    • Appraise, motivate and direct staff to ensure efficient operations using a professional and positive approach. 
    • Assign and schedule trainers according to facility training needs.
    • Ensure supervisor, trainer & trainee schedules are aligned.
    • Monitor and document trainer/trainee safety, quality, attendance and performance. 
    • Partner with cross functional teams on projects and activities as required, and or as necessary to ensure corporate goals, operational efficiencies and profitability objectives are met. 


    • HS Diploma or GED required
    • BS/BA in related field preferred
    • Prior experience as a Warehouse Trainer. 
    • Experience as a Warehouse Training or Operations Supervisor is highly desired.
    • General warehouse operations shipping and loading dock procedures; all Facility Training procedures; Microsoft Office proficiency 
    • Effective written and verbal communication skills; Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to foreign cultures; knowledge of instructional methods and techniques; knowledge of principles of Human Resource management.
    • Understanding of adult learning theory; instructional design
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, coaching, and presentation skills are desired
